At National level, the Agricultural Census Division in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW), GoI is responsible for planning, coordinating & executing the Agriculture Census operations in the country.
This is the first time that data collection for the agricultural census is being occurred on smart phones and tablets so that data is available in time.National Institute of Electronics of Information Technology (NIELIT), Kolkata has developed this App.In Phase-I, collection of information in connection with Agriculture Census 2021-22 is undertaken on complete enumeration basis across the country using Schedules.
Items include number of operational holdings, area operated by different size classes (marginal, small, semi-medium, medium and large), social groups (SC, ST, Others), gender (male, female, transgender), types of holding (individual, joint and institutional), land use, tenancy status apart from some items on agricultural facilities available in the village.
Output tables/results are prepared at Village / Tehsil / District / State / National level and unit level.
